Hey Ty, in all seriousness.........what's the odds on Stevie Y signing Stamkos to a long term contract ? Should I be getting excited as a Leaf fan of every passing day that a contract hasn't been signed ?

Bishop wants that last goal back but I think it hit Condra and deflected high and he probably wanted the first one back as well. Not going to blame him as he has been playing good in all those losses and Thursday ahead of this game.

Again the team did not play a full 60 minute game this has become an issue. I don't know why they are not playing a full game but its a major problem, I guess its on Cooper and he needs to fix it.

Stamkos had his chance but we all know he is not a shootout guy so it did not surprise me in the least he did not convert.

The shootout - Hedman, Boyle, Filppula what the hell was Cooper smoking when you have Kucherov, Drouin, Johnson, Vlad sitting on the bench but that is neither here or there being a skills competition for the final point.

I say put Drouin with Stamkos and Vlad and put Cally on the third line where he will be much more effective. I think 27-91-90 would have enough defense in their own zone and might as well try it out and see how it goes.

They should have really won all 3 of these games against these teams, missed points.

With all your great points it's a wonder why you're not running good NHL team. Oh wait, because you're Arm chair GM who doesn't know jack poop. Maybe, just maybe that the playoff run we had took a toll on these guys energy and is going to take them time to get back to it? Of course not, because you know better, right?

Yes you should be excited about the prospect of Steven Stamkos coming to the Toronto Mapleleafs. It's looking more and more likely that is his goal.

What did I say in that post that was so egregious for you? The board is dead so I come on here after the game and say 4 or 5 general things I see with the team, everyone has an opinion and those are mine. Is this not a place to state some opinions and talk about them, this a discussion board and I would love to talk and discuss the Bolts with you Arty and the others on here.

As to your point of course I know they are going thru a Stanley Cup hangover, I also think Stamkos's contract is affecting the team now, and the different injuries since the start of the season are causing issues. Cooper needs to get a hold of it and push his team thru it, he can do it.

It's a frustrating thing. Because I don't necessarily see anywhere where we could use some better/new pieces. It's just a question of trying to start a fire under these guys. Stralman was the only one who looked to have it last night. Maybe everyone is just waiting around to say bon (frank)ing voyage to Steven (frank)ing Stamkos. (frank).

Totally agree, they are not playing a full 60 and it could 1 of or all of a stanley cup hangover, Stamkos contract issue, injuries. I don't know which one is the main cause but its on Cooper to get them to push thru it. Cooper can do it.

CALM DOWN ARTY. With the boards so dead right now any objective post should be appreciated. If you dont agree then write your 2 cents, but this respond only makes you look like a douche.

The hangover should be over soon.. Maybe the absence of a true veteran is showing, someone who can get the young guys to focus again. Wheres Morrow when you need him?!?!

Agree on the penalty shooters. Hedman has had some succes in SO, but putting Boyle and Filpp out there is insane.. Also Bish falling for the same move against Pirri should not happen.

We get a new chance tonight, at home. No excuses, 2 points must be won. The other teams will have alot of games to catch us otherwise.

It will affect this team losing Stamkos, but he's on the Lightning, he's NOT the Lightning. We still have a bright future without him. Deangelo, Keokkeok, Pointe, vasilevskiy and Gudlevskis. To a lesser extent, Dotchin, Blujus, Marchessault, ikonen, Richard and Yan.
I think this is our roster next season, only I hope Carle isn't among them. I'll try to lay off Sustr because of his inexperience. Perhaps with a more defensively responsible partner like Witkowski he could get better.
Kucherov Johnson 3.34 Palat 3.34
Drouin 3.194 Filppula 5 Callahan 5.8
Killorn 2.55 Namestnikov Condra 1.25
Paquette Boyle 2 Brown
Marchessault

Hedman 4 Stralman 4.5
Garrison 4.6 Keokkeok 1.475
Carle 5.5 Nesterov
Sustr 1.45 Witkowski

Bishop 5.95
Vasilevskiy 1.475

56.424
5 forwards
2 defense

As of now, i wouldnt want to go with Filppula as our second line center. If he can go back to where he was, then sure.. Eric Staal anyone?

Yes we are having problems scoring and there is a SC hangover just like most teams following a long run. The Rangers were just a little bit better in there first 20 games last year and went on to win the Presidents Cup. The Stammer domino effect on the whole team and extensions have to laying on their minds. Time to move on and either sign him or trade him, I'd rather they sign him, the last thing this team needs is another captain which we've had 3 in the last 4 years. They read too much press over the summer but forgot what the work was to get to being a favorite, not so right now so time to buckle up and play hard, trade Filp he's past his sell by date with this team and trade Carle even waive him someone will pick him up. Bring up Koekkoek and let the two we just call up play for a spot. Drouin needs to get back on the top line and feed Stammer. He's regressing on the fourth line, he's not a grinder he's a playmaker.

Trade and sign an over hyped center? Filppula will do as a second line center until Namestnikov and Pointe are ready to go.

Drouin, Johnson and Paquette are all out tonight. I guess that explains Drouin not getting top line minutes.

Something needs to be done with Stamkos. I just hope the return we get if he doesn't sign is worth his value. 1st round, A Prospect, top 6 forward too much?

At this point, if they take Carle and give me a discount on my daughters braces I'd be happy. We won't get much for a guy who won't sign here.

The three Crunchers played good enough in their limited minutes, thats some depth with honestly better depth still left in Syracuse.
